No matter how well you maintain RV trailer axle bearings, they wear out over time just like any other mechanical parts. Whatever trailer model you own, there are wheel bearings that keep the wheels attached to it while at the same time allowing them to freely turn for safe and stable steering. If these components are worn or damaged, they can make the wheels seize or even fall especially at high speeds. The consequences are obvious. You can prevent that from happening by replacing the parts which show the signs of wear.
Trailer wheel bearings never go bad all of a sudden. There is a number of symptoms that you should check them for wear. To wit, you will hear abnormal clicking, rumbling, or growling noise or notice that tires have uneven wear. Finally, if the wheel hubs of your trailer are hot or too warm after some towing time, you should also examine its bearings. There are many reasons for their wearing.
