Rothco is a leading manufacturer of premium quality military, tactical, outdoor, and survival products. In 1953 Milton Somberg established the company in a small loft on Great Jones Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. At first Rothco was dealing with clothing and World War II army surplus, then the business grew and the company settled in a bigger warehouse at Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. When utilized military goods became deficient, Rothco became the greatest manufacturer of military clothing and gear (military backpacks, knives, flashlights, etc.) in the United States. By the late 1970, the company enlarged its lineup and moved to Long Island.
