Ground Control 5th Wheel 2 Years Later
Lippert Components® - Ground Control Fifth-Wheel Kit with Wireless Remote
Purchased this back in May of 2016 and installed it 2 years ago. My 5th wheel is a Grand Design Reflection 337RLS and this is now a standard item on their new campers. The factory guy told me, last year, that they waited until a more solid product was on the market and this is it. Tips & tricks. The camper spare tire was under the camper between and a little bit rear of the camper wheel axles. I dropped the tire out of the way exposing a hole in the underbelly covering for the cable that pulls the spare tire up into place. I then cut that underbelly from the hole to both sides of the camper frame rails. Then i unscrewed the belly from the rails a little bit forward and backward to expose the rails where the jacks would be installed. To get the wiring from this back of camper area to the front I used a 35' carpenter tape measure. I dropped the front middle of camper belly cover to open a gap. I pushed the tape measure straight back into this opening all the way to the spare tire opening. I had to snake it back and forth to get through the nest of wires and hoses that lay in this belly. Next time, I would duct tape the end of the tape measure into a point so it would feed easier as I pushed it 25' back to the spare tire hole. Once there, I simply pulled the wiring harness up to the front of the camper by taping it to the tape measure after I had connected the wires to the rear level motors and level box attached to cross bar. Once you have all the wiring up front, you should be able to figure out how to drill a few holes for wiring to thread it up into the storage compartments. I installed the control panel onto my storage door so when it is open, i can use it while being able to see the hitch in the bed of the truck. The wiring hangs a little bit loose as the storage door opens and closes but a few wire ties and wire loops made it work very well. I recommend this to anyone that is tired of the time it takes to level-up and hook up. I full time live in the camper and unlike a lot of full timers, we travel a lot. We probably set up and take down over 50 - 80 times a year with some stops just for a couple nights. This product works great. I considered hydraulic systems but this works better is cold climates which is a month or two per year of our travels. If it fails, I can put a socket wrench on it and get up and going instead of dealing with hydraulic whatever. The electric will never leak. I have raised off ground to change tires and to replace broken leaf spring. Down time was short and sweet done by me instead of calling and waiting on service truck.

Installed Ground Control 3.0
Lippert Components® - Ground Control Fifth-Wheel Kit with Wireless Remote
Product looks great and adds class to 2006 Keystone Montana. This is my second installation of the Ground Control System on Keystone 5th wheel trailers. The installation went as expected with the added extra of the arctic package which added time to the install and additional work on removing and replacing the panels and insulation under the trailer. System worked well the time and leveled the trailer as expected.

Does Not Fit All
Lippert Components® - Ground Control Fifth-Wheel Kit with Wireless Remote
This is a good product from a good company. I have had their products on previous units. However it does not fit all 5th wheels and they do not provide any information on the required size for the main beams. I have a feather lite unit and my beams were over two inches to small form the brackets to fit in them. That information would have been helpful rather that have to return this very heavy package.

Problems With Landing Gear
After installation when your (homing the front landing gear) they will retract all the way back into the belly of the RV. Bending the adjusting pins (be aware). There is nothing telling you about this. To avoid the pins being bent in the future and to ensure that they would stay (home) I welded a bracket to prevent them from retracting into the belly of the RV and bending the pins.
