An inverter remote is a useful add-on allowing you to control the inverter at a certain distance with maximum convenience. It can be quite helpful when the inverter is hidden from sight or installed in a less convenient place, while the remote requires less space and effort to install it on a dash panel or any other construction. Many inverters have a special output for the remote, however, remotes greatly differ by their functionality. Some of them are essentially the switches with a single light indicator showing the current on/off status.
Others are more complex pieces of electronics and can display battery voltage, current power output, and real-time status of numerous functions such as under- and over-voltage protection, AC grid indication, power save mode, overload protection, etc. The functionality of many models allows you to control not only the inverter but also the charger and generator, with the help of various setup menus.
